The Assault on the Supplement Industry Continues
http://blog.drdavidwilliams.com/blog/digestive-health-guidance/the-assault-on-the-supplement-industry-continues
The media assault on the supplement industry continues, this time with a Wall Street Journal article that bashes vitamin use. When is it going to end? Probably not until the Food and Drug Administration has full control over how supplements are regulated in this country—which the government agency is working hard to do right now.
I wrote about this assault on vitamins a few weeks ago, as well, in response to two other negative studies that came out on multivitamins and vitamin E.
While I agree that we should ideally be getting all of our nutrients through our diets, the fact remains that our soils are depleted, and our produce is increasingly becoming less rich in essential vitamins and minerals. Supplementation fills in those nutritional gaps. As I wrote in my earlier blog entry: Continue to take these negative reports with a grain of salt, and my multivitamin and other supplements.
